Our story
Among the olive trees in the hills around Panicale, you’ll find Casa Casalini — the place where our Italian dream came to life. Even before we had seen the house, the name was already chosen. It was for sale as “Casa Casalini,” named after the tiny hamlet in the Umbrian countryside where it stands.
Who we are
We are Nina and Thomas. In the summer of 2024, together with our then two-month-old son Tibo, we moved from The Netherlands to Casalini, Panicale. Here we found what we had been searching for for years: beautiful surroundings, space and tranquility — with the charm and warmth of Italian life within easy reach. In Umbria, we’ve made our Italian dream come true.
We believe it’s important that all our guests feel welcome and at home, and that they can truly enjoy a well-deserved holiday. We’re always happy to share tips for nice outings or great restaurants in the area. At the same time, we respect the privacy of our guests — those who wish can simply relax in peace and enjoy the apartment, the garden and the private pool.
The Italian dream
In 2018, during a long trip through Central America, we said our dream out loud for the first time: to run a guest accommodation in Italy. Thomas had been carrying this idea with him for quite some time, and Nina quickly became excited too. We found ourselves dreaming more and more about the “What if…?” — and slowly, that dream began to take shape.
At some point we realised we had two choices:

Keep dreaming — nothing wrong with that.

Or go for it. Time for action!
As you can guess, we chose the second option. What followed was a period of language courses, saving money and scouting trips through Italy. Our dream became more and more tangible — and eventually, reality.
